RCVS Hospital Status – What This Means for You and Your Pet
At Nurture Vet Hospital in Wells, Charlie Moore and his team worked incredibly hard to achieve their aim of a Tier 3 RCVS Small Animal Hospital status. The highest level of accreditation awarded by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) an independent UK regulatory body. This status reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional clinical care, patient safety, and a high standard of service to our clients and their pets.
In order to achieve RCVS Hospital status our practice met rigorous standards in a wide range of areas, including advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities, continuous professional development for our veterinary and nursing teams, and robust clinical governance systems. It also confirms that our hospital is equipped to manage complex medical and surgical cases to a consistently high standard. We also strive for environmental sustainability and prioritise staff wellbeing.
A key aspect of our accreditation is that we provide a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on site veterinary service, managed directly by our own team. which means your pets are never left alone and we are always by their side. This ensures continuity of care — if your pet is treated by us during the day, their overnight care remains under the supervision of our hospital clinicians, with full access to your pet’s medical records and treatment plans.
We are proud to be the only Wells-based veterinary hospital, serving local communities with a dedicated in-house emergency and critical care service. Our team works closely together to ensure seamless care at all times, offering reassurance that your pet is never transferred to an unfamiliar external provider overnight.
In addition to clinical excellence, we place great importance on clear, compassionate communication with pet owners. We understand how stressful it can be when a pet is unwell, and we are committed to involving you fully in decisions about your pet’s care.
RCVS Hospital status provides peace of mind — knowing your pet is receiving expert, regulated, and round-the-clock care from a highly trained and dedicated veterinary team.
Clients who use are services at Nurture Weston are offered out of hours services in Wells and benefit from staff rotating between the two sites, which means your pets are known by staff in both sites and records can easily be shared.
