Why we believe pets benefit from more time
Many veterinary practices now offer 15-minute appointments. At Nurture, our standard vet consultations are 20 minutes, while remaining competitively priced. Those additional minutes allow more time to listen, examine your pet thoroughly, answer questions and discuss treatment options — helping appointments feel calmer, less rushed and more personalised.
For many owners, a veterinary visit can involve discussing several concerns at once — changes in behaviour, ongoing medical conditions, medications, diet, mobility, or simply worries that have built up over time.
Our main consulting rooms have additional space and desks more like a GP practice, allowing time for a calm conversation before your pet’s examination begins. We allow the examination to happen naturally where the patients prefer to be seen. This could be the floor or their owner’s lap. The consultation is always focused on stress free interactions in line with our top tier accreditations for our pet friendly clinic status. This creates a more relaxed environment where important information can be shared, questions can be answered properly, and decisions can be made together.
Your pet will then receive a thorough nose-to-tail health check, and your vet will work with you to create the most appropriate treatment or care plan tailored to their individual needs.
We also pride ourselves on continuity of care. Wherever possible, we encourage you to see the same vet each time you visit. Over time, this helps your vet build a deeper understanding of both you and your pet — from their personality and preferences to their medical history and long-term health needs. Familiar faces can also help pets feel more relaxed during visits, making appointments calmer and more positive for everyone involved.
